Princess Kasune Zulu

Once in a while the world is graced with a true leader - one who demonstrates grace and courage, who triumphs over painful adversity to inspire people the world over. These are people of such integrity, faith and determination to make the world a better place, that when theyspeak,we listen.

Think for a moment... if at age 10 years you had been forced from your comfortable city home into a mud hut in a remote, dusty village for the next nine years; if by 18 you had nursed your parents to their early and painful deaths; this circumstance forcing you into a marriage of convenience to a man 25 years your senior; if by 21 you had mothered his two daughters only to learn you had contracted a potentially lethal, incurable disease; would you have the strength and courage to dedicate your life to fighting for others?

Would you have the courage to sit across the table from the leader of the free world and convince him to commit $15billion to fighting the virus that killed your parents, your brother and your sister?

Princess knows the story of her early years echoes that of millions of children across southern Africa. She has been blessed with a voice and the power to fight. She now uses that voice to advocate for the children of the world.

Today Princess Kasune Zulu works as a speaker, author and freelance AIDS activist.

She currently lives in Chicago, USA with her husband David and daughters Joy and Faith.

Belinda Collins is a social entrepreneur, author and professional communicator with a passion for social justice issues affecting the world's women and children.  She is sought after as a speaker and writer.

At 25, through the running of a successful PR consultancy in partnership with brother Darren, the pair were named Young Business Heroes in their home state of Victoria. At 27 she decided to close the business to widen her view of the world. Knowing little of the plight of the world's two billion people who survive on less than $1 per day, Belinda began a career in the media team of international humanitarian organisation, WorldVision, where she met Princess Kasune Zulu in 2002.

After meeting Princess and travelling through Africa together, the global AIDS pandemic had been made personal to Belinda, "it affected my friend. It could just as easily have affected me." From here began the journey to write Warrior Princess.

In her time with World Vision Australia Belinda headed the Media/PublicRelations team through the Boxing Day tsunami period, raising $80million in fourteen days and managing the World Cup Asia TsunamiCricket match. She brought issues such as HIV/AIDS, poverty and child soldiers to the attention of mainstream Australia through articles inkey media.

Today Belinda works with Leadership Victoria and also as a consultant to Australia's Third Sector; undertaking strategic projects and brokering relationships between charitable organisations and potential funders. Her recent clients include the Australian Football League,Richmond Football Club and the University of Melbourne.

Belinda is a regular contributor to Australia's Third Sector Magazine.

Belinda lives in Melbourne Australia. She is happily married to Darren and they have one son, Samuel, whom they adore.
